Gloucestershire has a fantastic opportunity to bring together the experience, ambition and enthusiasm within the county, as the government is looking to devolve more powers, responsibilities and finances to a more local level.  Eleven  of Gloucestershire’s public sector partners have come together to have one conversation with government about how, through devolution, we can achieve better outcomes and reduced costs.

There is no-one-size-fits-all structured process, or compulsion to do this. However, Greater Manchester and Cornwall have already signed ‘devolution deals’ and a number of other areas are developing proposals and agreeing deals. We believe that devolution could offer a fantastic opportunity for our county. We are Gloucestershire is the name for our devolution bid.
